Makings of a cheap poker table
I decided to post a picture of my felt covered dinning room table and my cheap poker chips. This set up costs me a whopping $17. $10 for 200 7.5g plastic poker chips and $7 for a 72x48in sheet of felt fabric which is currently draped over the table like a tablecloth. When I am not playing, it gets folded up and put in the closet.

Sometime in the future I am going to buy a set of 500 11.5g clay poker chips. After that I hope to add a removable padded railing around the outside of the table that can also be put in the closet when I am not using it.

Plastic chips don't have the same quality feel or the same clank when you toss them in the pot. When they are too light they feel kind of cheap. I would settle for 11.5g plastic chips if I found them for the right price. Most cheaper commercial clay poker chips have metal inserts in them anyway to achieve the official weight.
I also think the pattern makes a difference. As you can see mine are almost completely solid, which is not good. Here are some common chip designs. I like the ones on the bottom the best.
Raul, I don't play very often, but it is fun if you get enough people together.
It's J.D., got a new blog going. My JDOrtega.net is now defunct, and forwards to my new blog over at JD360.Net
Anywho, I got an idea to help out your poker table cloth dilemma... they make clips that you attach to either the table or table cloth to keep it pulled tight when in use. You can find them at Walmart, or check this site out for an idea: http://www.tableclips.com/
Later man!
