Batman Beginns

I saw Batman Begins yesterday (also my Birthday) and it was really good. I give it a 8 out of 10. Although, I wish they had cast a different actress as Rachel Dawes. Not that Katie Holmes did a bad job, I just didn't feel like she fit the part.

Lucky for me, Holmes is not going to be in the next Batman (more info).

"WARNER BROS is angry her engagement to TOM CRUISE has stolen media attention away from the movie."

Tough break Katie. If anyone is interested there are rumors that the Joker will be played by Sean Penn (more info).

Sean Penn as the joker huh? That might be kind of neat. I think if it's the same sort of setting as the first one Sean Penn would be good.

Happy Birthday again friend.

I wish movies weren't so damn expensive here (9.25 on the weekend...6.75 for a matinee) as I'd be living at the theatre this summer. Fantastic Four is out this week and the wife wants to go and see War of The Worlds. I'm tempted to boycott because of weirdo Cruise. But I'll probably be dragged along!

Look at it this way Christian. You can watch a complete movie with Tom Cruise and not have to listen to him talk about scientology. That's nice right?

I disagree with Patrick; if the Joker is anything like the original Batman movie I think Sean Penn is the wrong way to go. I can't think of anyone I'd like to see in that role, but definitely not Sean Penn

I think these movies are a different level of darkness than the first ones so I think Sean Penn would be a villan like Liam Neeson was. Just a flat out bad guy. Maybe they should get Jack to play him again? He was good, but I think these are less comical than the first ones so something about Sean Penn sounds like it would work.

I am not a big Sean Penn fan, but I will hold judgment until I see the movie. I think the role is doomed from the get go. I don't see how anyone can do a better job than Nicholas. You know that is what everyone will compare him to.
